Estructura de usos humanos de la zona costera de la bahía de Cartagena de Indias. Caso de estudio.

Abstract

El estudio sobre la estructura de usos humanos realizado en la zona costera de la Bahía de Cartagena aplicando la herramienta de análisis comparativas de matrices de usos propuesta por Vallega (1996) ha sido de gran ayuda, toda vez que permite tener una visión más amplia de la realidad estudiada y del grado de conflictos que allí se presentan por efectos antrópicas. Los temas analizados son: Vertimientos, pesca, urbanización y sobreexplotación del suelo litoral, ecosistemas, Muelles de pequeñas embarcaciones, infraestructuras, turismo de sol y playa, sedimentación, riesgos erosiónales en los barrios de Bocagrande, Castillogrande, El Laguito y el Centro Histórico, Muelles de embarcaciones pequeñas, protección de borde litoral y puertos. Este análisis permite reconocer la necesidad de una verdadera planeación y gestión en la búsqueda de soluciones en el marco de la sostenibilidad ambiental de este paisaje y cuerpo de agua que es parte del patrimonio de la humanidad.

Abstract: The study about the structure of human uses in the coastal zone of Cartagena Bay by applying the comparative analysis uses array tool proposed by Vallega (1996) has been helpful, because it allows having a broader vision of the studied reality and the degree of conflicts that appear there by manmade effects. Topics discussed include: dumping, fishing, urbanization and overexploitation of coastal soil, ecosystems, wharves of small boats, infrastructures, sun and beach tourism, sedimentation, erosions risk in the districts of Bocagrande, Castillogrande, Laguito and the Historical downtown, protection of coastal edge and ports. This analysis allows to recognize the necessity of a real planning and management in the search for solutions within the framework of the environmental sustainability of this landscape and water body that is part of the heritage of humanity.
